"Touch gadgets are actually promoting above objectives," said Bob O'Donnell, a system v. p. at IDC.
And that indicates provide shortages. "Some providers are actually experiencing shortages because contact sections are in restricted provide. Vendors are saying they can't get as many touch-based gadgets as they would like to fulfill the demand that they're seeing."

Microsoft's web shop details a variety of pills and compounds (so-called convertibles) on the market, such as the $499 Acer Iconia W510, $799 Asus VivoTab, and $849 HP Jealousy x2.
Touch-screen notebooks consist of the $699 Asus VivoBook, $1,299 Acer Desire S7, $899 Sony models Vaio T13, and $1,349 HP Spectre XT TouchSmart.
IDC's O'Donnell included, however, that non-touch Ms windows 8 PCs are not doing so well. "The non-touch gadgets are promoting below objectives," he said. "If high-end gadgets are promoting better than predicted. Excellent. But that doesn't create up for low-end amount gadgets."
