Facebook pic mortar toy led to armed conflict cops raid

When you make your Facebook profile picture that the man of action (aka the British GI Joe), it may be a clue to your fascination with fantasy.

It also suggests that if a mortar toy in the background of the image, which also might not in fact be quite real.

Please try to say that five cars of the police broke into Ian Driscoll in Tewkesbury, England, armed with guns and a search warrant.

"The man of action looked a bit like me, so I decided to put it as my Facebook picture. I did not even notice the mortar in the background," Driscoll said 43 years at the Daily Mail.

The image offered more guidance to the unreality of the mortar. There was a television remote control at his side. He offered what some might call scale and perspective.

Unfortunately, the outlook is not always something the police embrace anything other than a loaded gun.

"It is clearly a tiny toy. I can not stop laughing. I think it's hilarious," Driscoll told the Mail. The police have managed to see the funny side, but only after telling him that he was lucky he was at home, otherwise they would have been forced to break his door.

They do not seem to have considered that the profile picture had been in place for a month.

It is not clear how wise "friend" Driscoll contacted the police to tell them his weapons cache. It could have been polished this person at least clean the marginal response.

A police official told the Mail Gloucestershire: "We believe that the community would rather we acted quickly on the information given to us of this nature, where it was proved to be a weapon."

Many will be happy to trust the police in this case. Maybe a phone call to Driscoll would have avoided the need for a raid.

Nevertheless, it is encouraging to see that he stood his ground and continued to believe that he is really a man of action.

The profile picture with mortar in the background, is always on his Facebook page today.
