Intel phablet on the way Asus

Asus, the maker of Google's Nexus One 7 will debut a 7-inch Fonepad at Mobile World Congress later this month, according to sources familiar with the product.

Reports indicate that the Fonepad may be denominated in the same league as - or slightly above - the Nexus 7, but below the notepad, which Asus launched Friday in Asia.

Leaked photos show it with an aluminum body and an Intel badge on the back.

An independent source familiar with the product confirms Fonepad with CNET.

Widely reported specifications include an Intel Atom processor with PowerVR SGX540 graphics Imagination, a 1280 x 800 IPS touchscreen, 1GB of RAM, up to 32GB storage, and a 1.2 megapixel front.
