The relatively lightweight aluminum keyboard / screen cover acts like a mini iPad for you and adheres magnetically as the Apple Smart Cover. When you're ready to use it, you remove it and support the iPad in the slot built into the keyboard (yes, it connects to your iPad via Bluetooth). The only problem with it is that it does not protect the back of your iPad, which may be scratched up pretty easily if you're not careful. Logitech claims that the keyboard provides "a traditional layout in striking form factor of seven inches, the smaller iPad mini shortcut function keys for commands you use most often, such as copy-and-paste" . The keyboard has now Auto On / Off - Get iPad wakes up automatically when you open the lid and goes to sleep when you close - and Logitech claims that the keyboard has a battery life of three months depending on use two hours per day. It charges via USB.
Achieving these smaller keyboard case for iPad Mini can be a challenge. The few I've tried, including the Belkin Laptop Keyboard for iPad Mini, felt a little cramped and had some other shortcomings, despite a design otherwise good condition.
